If you have space, put them in the living room for use as footrests. One at the end of the bed gives you an alternative place to sit while dressing, putting shoes on, etc.

If you have a lounge room/tv room, hassocks can be good for extra seating while playing games, they are the right height if you're using a coffee table to play on. Push them into the corner when not in use.

If it is not necessary that they have practical use, a round hassock goes well in an empty bedroom corner to hold dolls, teddy bears, etc.
