What effect to the stain would I make if I add bleach to semi-transparent acrylic stain?

Question:

Answers:
This would not be a good thing. Paints and stains often contain ammonium compounds that can react with bleach to make some nasty fumes.

The bleach may also break down the binders, causing the product to peel, perhaps even bubble off of the surface. There are surficants in household bleach that would cause some problems as well.

they don't mix and the fumes are enough to kill you with the reaction.
why would you want to this? If you want to thin out the acrylic, and make it even more transparent use water. if you want it lighter, add a little white or lighter color and use water...or use polyacrylic clear to thin it.works great. Bleach, I imagine either will just thin it or not mix at all.
