How do you get rid of lacquer build up?

Question:I was spraying some cedar staffs for the Renissance faire for my little nephew and I was finishing them with a spray on laquer. I over spread some spots.. How can I get rid of them and then make the staff smooth after I finish them/

Thanks
Chad

Answers:
If it is a nitrocellulose lacquer product (like Deft) you should be able to remove it by wiping it with lacquer thinner on a rag. Lacquer will re-emulsify and wipe off. Easy as pie.

All I can think of is sand over the staffs!
