How can i level a small area for pool?

Question:I just need to level a section big enough for a 12x36 above ground pool...please help

Answers:
Put a stake in the area you want to level. Then get around 50ft of 1/2" clear vinyl hose and put a mark 2 feet from each end with a marker. While holding both ends up so the marks are at the same height, fill the tubing with water just up to the marks. Tape one end of the hose to the stake so that the mark is at the height you want to level, and as you move around keep the water level on the mark and it will indicate the same height as the other mark. Use as many stakes as needed to mark the height then back-fill to the height you need.

I started by using a sod remover that I rented for under $20 and removed the area where my pool was going. Then I laid sand about 4 inches thick. Starting at one side, use a level, the one we used was about 4 feet long and tied it to a 2 x 6 x 10 ft. piece of wood to help level the sand. It took three of us to do this, because one or two people need to hold the level while the other shovels the sand around. I hope this helps. Good Luck and happy swimming!
curious has a good plan just make sure u use a tamp or rent a compactor to compact your sand. before you install your pool. Good Luck
