Can some one help me what i need to know is can i tile on plaster board?
Question:can i put ceramic tiles on plaster board or do i have to plaster the walls first
Answers:
yes
you do not have to plaster first.
plaster is not necessary and plaster board may actually make using adhesive easier. Go for it.
We just did our own tiling and everything we read said to put a Cement backer board up over the plaster board before tiling. The Cement board creates a bond between the mastic and the tile. I would be concerned that the tile would eventually fall off, or that the grout would not bond correctly.
Sure you can. For some good instructions go to diy.com and search their files for installing tile. I know it's there. You can do this it's not that hard for us do it yourselfers to do most jobs with some small instructions. I always practice on scrap stuff first when it comes to doing a project for the first time. This way I get all the wrong ways to do it out of the way.
Yes, you can - just check if you have proper adhesive for the type of tiles you are using.
I only know for sure that plasterboard alone is not good for real stone tiles - they are too heavy for it. You have to ask for advise in your local DIY or hardware store you got the tiles from.
Yes you can. I would use a good primer first. Use a mastic vs using thinset.
Yes you can, pva the boards first to seal them, make sure you spread the adhesive all over the boards because if you don't and water gets in, the boards rot very quickly.
just put the ceramic tiles right on
you don't haft to plaster it first.
this sounds nice.
good luck to you.
