How do I stain a concrete front porch?
Question:it is a covered porch with brick edging and brick steps.
Answers:
In order to stain concrete you have to clean the surface first . This can be done by using muratic acid. this can be obtained at any paint or hardware store.Follow the directions on the container. After the porch has been thoroughly cleaned with the acid wash you can use a concrete stain from any paint store . Once again follow the instructions on the label. The stain can be tinted to any color you would like. Please remember the first step is critical. The surface must be prepared with the acid or the stain will not penetrate the concrete. Hope this helps.
some stores actually carry concrete stain. i would head over to a lowe's, home depot or any DIY center and pick a color
they have concrete stain in tubes that will color the porch any shade you wish. Cost about 6 bucks a tube
idk
here's my take on that question. Painting or staining concrete after it's been laid (and dried) is a bear plus I don't think it would last, and even if it is painted then at some point that would wear off or wear off in spots and look ugly. I would think the way to go about that would be to color the concrete "before" it's laid.kinda like dropping food coloring into a cake then baking it. When you say it's a covered porch I'm assuming that it's encased and screened with windows and all. If that's the case then why not just put down some kind of linoleum or flooring or wood tongue-in-grove wood looking plastic covered stuff that you could replace pieces of it if they ever got wet?
