Changing an OLD door knob?

Question:I work with a guy from india and in his apartment he has those old locks that have the clear glass handles. Will i need to drill a bigger hole or jam some wood in there because these arent regular knobs. They are all interior knobs.

Answers:
I have seen the old ones and they seem to have the same size hole where they attach to the shank going through the door. Take one off and try it.

If you need to fill some extra space use metal shims instead of a piece of wood that will fall out soon.

Take the existing hanleset off and see what the holes drilled in the door look like. See if you can buy and new handleset that uses the same holes. If not, need a carpenter because it will not be easy.
you have to take the old ones off and see what you have to work with first then you gotta figure out if the holes will work for a new lockset or if you need to break out the drill. you got the skills now use them.
