House warming party idea - something people can create that I can use in my new home.?
Question:In one house, I had guest create stepping stones and decorate them for me to use in my yard. I want to do something different though than that but I would still like to have guests create something I can use in my new home. Any ideas?

Get 12"x12"(or any other size!) sheets of atrists linoleum and maybe you can find some cheap tools or rent them for everybody to carve a picture in the linoleum. Then you get some printing ink and a brayer and make prints of their art to frame around your home. They can keep the originals.
I really like this idea, how did you come up with it? How bout pieces of fabric that you can use in different areas around the house? Or maybe togas that are left at the house?

Have them paint wine glasses or drinking glasses. I saw this on HGTV. You can set out paints that are in the color of your kitchen, or all the primary colors.
kayfulco: tell this person to make up a party food list of things like potted "dirt" desert served with a trowel . my friend is giving you ideas i have no clue i was thinking of maybe them gettingtogether and making some sort of swing or a garden or maybe a hummingbird place for the eye. and she said this too...kayfulco: or something like that it has a dual use it brings food to the party and afterwards she can use it herself in her garden..so you have both our ideas i hope it helps...im a garden fan myself..shes the brains in the home im the brains out the home lol
Stock the bar party. Each guests brings a bottle of liquor. You get to keep leftover liquor to stock your home bar.

Have everyone build, make or buy a birdhouse, feeder, or watering area for your garden.
This way you will have garden art in you new home.
They are easliy made, and or cheap to buy and bring pleasure to you eyes and homes for your new friends in the garden.
If you have a decent handful of people then you could do something called a Collective Consiousness Abstract painting. You give everyone their own part of a canvas and they each paint their own little square. They will some how all line up its really cool and it really brings a group of people together, plus I know it's not important art and what not but I like seeing mine and who it reminds me of everyday.
