How can i make a homemade hammock or downstairs. what supplies should i use and how.?

Wow! What an undertaking! It would be really cool to be able to say "Hey, look what I made"!
Get some good stregnth rope or cord (something that will be able to handle weight) 2 dowels for the ends, a couple of rings and a good knowledge of macrame or knot making is handy!
For directions, just google it - I have seen some fantastic sites with them on it...too time consuming for me to make...
I also have seen one crochet - but that was in a self-reliance magazine in the late 80s. Good luck!
A hammock is so inexpensive and tricky to properly build even I who has built a hundred things would not try to build instead of buy.
Measure the length of the hammock,it will be your length from head to feet.Buy that amount of canvas from a tent shop or hardware.Buy some heavy duty eyelets.Say three for top, three for bottom.I think they clamp together.Then you'll need heavy duty rope, possibly nylon rope..You will need some heavy duty hooks. Select place to hang hammock.Insert your hanging hooks.Tie three lengths of cord thru' eyelets and attach to hook.Do same other end.Voila! Take it easy.
Have no ideas about hammocks but have you thought of a swinging bed:
Get an old solid door (garage sales) put four hooks on the corners, another four hooks in the ceiling to correspond to the door hooks, get four lenghts of chain, (lenght depends on how high off the ground yu want it) and hand from the ceiling. Throw a mattress or foam piece on the door and you are all set. Makes a single or double bed.
go to hobby lobby and learn how to macra ma (spelled like it sounds) you can do this pretty cool.
it just takes time and a lot of knot tying.
