I have a stand for a punching bag & it is too tall for my basement. Can I get it shortened? (cut and welded?)?

But make sure thats is welded the right way, and that it has the right stand on the bottom. Otherwise it will brake, i used to have apunching bag, bug mine was hanning from the sealing roof. I used to punch the hell out of if, until i knocked it out!

I'm thinking it would be far easier to suspend the bag from a chain bolt mounted to the ceiling rafters.
It would also give you more room in the basement.
Sell the stand on Ebay.
