Which laminate flooring is easiest to lay? Homebase, B&Q or Wickes?
Question:
Answers:
Go to all those places and ask for samples then try to put two pieces together yourself, you will know which one is easier for you.
Some has a layer of wax under the tongue which is easier to slide in.
If the curve of the tongue is too thick it needs to slide at an upward angle at least 30 degrees, and would not let you to tap together horizontally.
They are all the same !!
B & Q really easy never tried the others
Homebase is quite easy the one we had had integral underlay the hardest part was fitting in around doorways
Even within the different stores you can buy the same or differnt types of flooring.
But my advice make sure you have the right tools - buy a pack that goes with them. It is almost imposssible without and a lot easier with.
I have just laid some of the floormaster tileloc which is sold by B&Q in my ensuite bathroom. It was surprisingly easy to lay once you get the knack of using a jigsaw which is needed to cut around the toilet pedestals, etc.
However, I have also just laid some wood effect laminate flooring in my bedroom and for this I used 'Quick-Step' laminate flooring which was even easier to lay and was of a much higher quality than the laminate flooring which you can purchase from B&Q, etc.
The best place I have found for Quick-Step flooring is a website (which I used) called:
http://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/quicks...
The laminate flooring on this website is much cheaper than it would be in a high street shop and they even deliver next working day if they have it in stock (including Saturdays). Highly recommended!!
Please consider one important factor when purchasing laminate floor from HB, B&Q, Wickes
Which one of the 3 stores will allow you to buy part of a pack if you make a mistake or just one piece extra
i think only Wickes will the two other stores will force you to buy a complete extra pack costing you more money.
Also returning excess stock only Wickes will the other two will only accept complete packs back.
