Painting exterior hardie board and when it drys looks like the is wet shiney spots what do I do?

Question:I am spraying with paint machine and using satin exterior paint the hardie board has never been painted I was told I did not have to prim hardie board have put two coats but is still doing it

Answers:
I have installed Hardi Plank on quite a few houses. I have also got talked into painting a couple of them. Weather it is primed or not, you should always put on a coat of an oil based primer. You can top coat it with oil or latex.

use a very fine grit sand paper over the entire surface and then wipe clean.then apply another coat of paint this should solve the problem...and remember ALWAYS use a primer
sanding a whole exterior would take days. hardi plank is a COMPRESSED concrete board , some spots are harder or more dence so the paint appears shiney in alot of spots. when doing a project on your own you notice things that you never would if you just walked up to it. other reasons if painting over caulking, paint mixture.
