How can I drill/make a small hole in a glass bottle safely?

Question:Need it for a project I'm working on. Thanks.

Answers:
You can't do it unless u have the right equipment. Go to you local glazier and they will do it for you for about $5.00.
They use a hollow dill bit and water. The drill bits alone are about $200.00.

Yes you can. By using duct tape and a washer. Duct tape a washer with a slightly larger hole than the drill bit that you are using were you want the hole. This will prevent the bit from running. Drill the hole with lite pressure and run water over the drilling area to prevent the glass from heating up and braking.
And remember always where safety glasses.
There are special drill bits for glass you can buy reasonably priced at Home Depot, Lowes, etc that look like a spear tip welded to a shaft. In miniature. LOL. These are glass drill bits. They should do the trick. Probably under $10 each.
Hi , You want to buy a Glass and Tile Bit. They look like a little spade, and are usually locked up because they are so expensive. If you can't find those, you can use a small masonry drill bit. They work, it just takes a little more patience, and don't last as long.Usually one time for glass. You should put an " X" with masking tape on the glass first, and than use a slow setting. Add water as your drilling.(to the spot) This keeps the bit from becoming dull to quickly. Remember,Tape, Water, and Slow setting. Oh don't forget the drill bit! Bye P.S. Use Eye Goggles!
You can heat up the part of the bottle over a gas burner and insert a large red hot needle (whatever size) through it.
Be careful.
