There is a dome shape that you can add to the roof of any house and power the house with it. Build in Niagara?
Question:It is Build in the Niagara Falls Ontario area. Where can you buy one? It's small and a dome shape and can be added to the peak top of a house.
Answers:
I have seen those in stores. They are a skylight that has a glass dome on the top to collect sun wherever in the sky the Sun is. That light then goes down a plastic tube that has reflective material on it. The result is that exterior daylight arrives with little loss through the attic into other rooms of your house.
It does not "power the house." It is just a better skylight. When nighttime comes you are still without any light from the sun coming through that tube. It also of course does not generate electricity for power.
I'm not at all aware, but have you attempted a general search in the WWW,,,or more directly going to a place that actually has one in use?
What might be a slight disappointment however is the
"Power the House" notion. Certainly Solar power is valid, in degrees, and needs various other components to actually convert the Sun to electrical energy. The issue with Solar power, even in a location where the Sun shines predominantly, is that it also "Doesn't" for an extended period every 24 hours.
The "collectors" to convert energy have to be a pretty large array for what they achieve, and in the case of use, IE: Home... You'd have to have an alternate power source of the storage ability for what is converted when the sun is shining.

I think you are referring to Sun Pipe, http://www.sunpipe.com/.
They make tubular, shafted skylights, with domed tops. They don't produce electricity, but are promoted as energy-saving.
