Hi, my kids are 1, 4, 9 and 11. They LOVE making their own mini pizzas. We sometimes buy the bases ready made and sometimes have a crazy time making our own dough. I have all the bowls ready with cheese, olives, pepperoni, etc. etc. and they first spread their bases with the tomato paste. Then they decorate as they like (the little ones eat more than they put on). Then we bake them and they eat them!

Kids love cooking. Another thing we make is giant potato dinners. You need a big, big potato for each person. Wash it (but don't peel it). Stab it with a knife all over. Put the potatoes in the microwave and let them all cook for about 6 minutes - check with fork or knife to see if it's soft (if you don't stab it it will explode !!).
When cooked cut an "x" in the top. Let the kids put a clean dish cloth on top and then give it a big smash with their fist (this is my kids favorite part). This breaks it open. They then fill it with first a blob of butter, then their choice of heated up (microwave) navy beans, canned chilli con carne, cheese, sour cream, or whatever they fancy. It is a really easy and quite health dinner (you should try one with coleslaw, sour cream and cheese - yum.

To be UNHEALTHY - after these you can do super sundae creations. They LOVE this! You need a tub of favorite ice-cream (cookie's & cream is good) - a can of whipped cream, m & m's, ice cream syrup (chocolate or maple or whatever you fancy), cut up strawberries and bananas, crushed nuts. Let them create their own sundaes . This is very popular and they will talk about it FOREVER!

enjoy.

almost any recipe can be kid friendly. Let them tear lettuce for a salad. grate cheese for tacos. Stir stuff on stove with supervision. Any thing that you can do they will need to learn. Make a pizza together and let them pick their own toppings and make silly faces on them.
Toasty pies or sandwiches are easy. Let them make up the sandwiches and put in the toast pie machine, sandwich press or under the grill in the oven.
make your own mini pizzas. start with an english muffin, add some sauce with sum cheese..then be creative.try added macaroni and cheese...hey there just kids.
my grandson is 9 and says he wants to be a chef or an astronaut...lolanyway,we made homemade tacos together,he chops the lettuce, stirs ground meat, and puts them together.recently i started a diet and wanted to help him make better food choices,so we made spahetti and meatballs, the kicker is we made it with spaghetti squash,i boiled it and let him shred it,he also made the meatballs.he was so impressed with himself he forgot that it is a good for you kind of spaghetti, and asked if we could make it again the following weekend.i think anything is fun for them..cards board games it doesnt matter, they enjoy your involvement with them..good luck and have fun..oh yeah you can make koolaid popsickles in an ice tray,or even a fruit punch or chocolate milk, just make sure to let them do as much of the work as possible,it make them feel important.
