There are several ways to do it.
When removing chrome in industry you can either 'back etch' the chrome off, the reverse of electroplating.
Put it in a caustic solution with power and it will remove it.
Shot blast it off, if hard chrome may take a while.
Polish it off using a polishing mop.
Grind it off with a emery belt.
Really there is nothing suitable to do at home, take it to a plating company, you might be able to get one of the workers to do it as a 'foreigner'

Difficult one. Chrome is harder than brass but it will come off with abrasion although it is very difficult to get it all off evenly. An electroplating shop might be able to chemically strip or electro-strip it but best solution if you want fine brass finish again is to ask electroplating shop to replate surface with brass.
I don't think you can successfully. It may look a shambles afterwards. If you want brass ones, or something different I would just buy new ones.

if the tap is solid brass shot blast it failing that not sure it can be done without damageing the brass x kitti x
Two answers are valid, but my question to you would be WHY?
Unless the taps are valuable family treasures, why not just purchase new? Solid Brass,,,antique fittings should have not beenj chromed in the first place; but certainly chrome plated low grade brass is used in more modern fixtures.
If they aren't worth what a Lottery win might be, your cost to strip might be far more than the cost of high end, solid brass, NEW fixtures.
Might this be a fixture that's already showing signs of the electro plate chipping off?
