Dishwasher waste?

Question:My dishwasher waste is leaking where it connects to the sink trap. The trap already had a washing machine spigot so to connect the waste pipe I cut down the spigot to the thread, attached a female hose connector to the waste pipe with a jubilee clip and screwed the two together using ptfe on the male thread.

It is still leaking, hell must smell more fragrant.

What have I done wrong and how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Si.

Without looking, I can only tell you that you need to do some re plumbing. What I would do is go to the wall and start there. Install some rigid PVC, and see what connections they have at the local supply house. Attach both the dishwasher and the washing machine to ridgid pipes.

If you explain it to the man behind the counter, he should be able to bring out the correct pieces.

The alternitive is to spend $100 (or more) on a plumber. This might be your best choice, as I bet the washing machine comes up in the sink whren draining.

Good luck.

First you need to unscrew the dishwasher hose adaptor form the ABS pipe. Check to see if the threads on the pipe are in good condition. If they are, thread in a new adaptor with Teflon tape. ensure that your dishwasher hose is in good condition and secure to the adaptor.

If the threads on the pipe are not in good condition, then that will also need to be changed.
