Will weed killer kill my grass??

Answers:
try weed & feed. if you have more weeds than grass you may be better off killing it off & starting over, sometimes that is much easier & even less expensive. it can take quite some time to grow new grass & is not the easiest to do. some grass seed (bahia) requires a 'foundation' to grow so it must be mixed with another type seed that is a fast growing, however temporary, grass(rye). if you choose to keep what you have & attempt to kill off what is weed, you will probably want to use a mixture of seed & keep it watered (not in the heat of the day). You may also want to try using plugs in the areas you need more grass in addition to the seed, & be sure to fertilize it. If it were me, the easiest would be to kill it off, then re-sod. that is the quickest & easiest. if not you may be looking at next year for a nice lawn. all this , of course, is depending on budget, size of yard, time you have to invest, etc.

Any product labeled Weed Killer (except Weed and Feed) will also kill the grass. Most are systemic, meaning that they go "inside" the leaves and work down to the roots to kill. You could use it on patches of weeds but everything you put it on will die.
