I am planning to build my own home, myself, with no contractors.?
Question:I am wondering if anyone knows of any good web sites that have advice or steps on how to complete the whole building process. I know most of the things needed to complete the house, but I just want to update my information. Thanks!!

There are many books about how to be your own contractor.
really... if you feel you need a website to build your house I suggest you at least hire a contractor to act as consultant .
an amateur builder can get themselves in a real mess by taking on a project they know little or nothing about... get a contractor and save yourself the headaches you are headed for
If you are asking a question like this, you should really consider hiring contractors. You can still GC the project, but having an experienced person who can keep things up to code will save you time and money in the long run.
The only thing more expensive than hiring someone to build your house is hiring someone to fix the mistakes you made building your house.
I don't think you can do every thing your self. You can be a GC on your house but some things need contractors like AC,electrical. Check with your city and county to see if you can build it your self not all places you can. Then go to the permits department they will give you the rest of the info.
my dad built his house all by himself 5 years ago he is a firefighter so he got some of his friends from the station to help him build the house and he hired teh things he could do himself like plumbing and electrical
