Moving my washer & dryer to the room behind where they currently are. How do I turn the plumbing around?

Question:I just want to keep the plumbing in the same spot... just want to turn it around so that my washer can hook up on the other side of the wall.

Answers:
If you are very "handy" you could do it yourself. You'll have to open up the wall. Turn off the water to the house. All you then have to do is disconnect the faucets and solder them back on in the other direction. If you don't think you can do it, call a plumber.

Try an Intervention..

Just kidding. Chances are that all the joints are soldered. You'll want to cut the pipes a few inches below the faucet. Then just re-install them in the oposite direction using a coupler.

Soldering, or "sweating" copper joints takes a little practice, so buy extra fittings and pipe, and practice soldering on scrap first.

Home Cheapo has lot's of D.I.Y. books that can give you detailed instructions on the soldering process, but the basics are.
1. test fit
2. use sandpaper to clean and de-gloss both the pipe, and the inside of the fitting.
3. apply a light coating of flux to both.
4. assemble
5. apply heat(flame) until the flux starts to "sizzle"
6. press solder to the joint and let it "flow" until a drip forms at the opposite side of the joint

When you are ready to do the install, you have to make sure that there is no water in the lines as it will dissipate the heat and not allow the pipes to get to the proper temperature. If you don't have a drain at a lower spot in the system, stuff bread into the pipe to keep the water a few inches away. The bread will disolve quickly so you'll have to have everything ready to go beforehand.
You better be fairly experienced to do a safe job on this. It will also involve either gas or electric connections. Here's a hint if you end up doing it yourself. Don't try to switch sides with the water connections to make them rlght. Just label them clearly and remember that the hot will be on the right, not the left. There are some good diy books on electrical and plumbing to guide you through it. And don't forget, you need to patch the first wall after you get everything moved. good luck
it sounds like you never did this before, call a plumber.
Cut the pipe put a 90 on it and go threw the wall. If you don't have soldering tools they sell a new compression fitting that can hold up to 800 psi. Go to a pipe supply place and ask them they will get you going.
what about the e lectrical for the dryer you need a 220 line in the other room
