What do you need to install?
Sometimes there is a setup.exe in the application that you can run to start the install process. But that just depends if you are installing an application or something different like a device driver (to get something like a printer to work).

2) Find the directions
3) Remove all of the parts
4) Verify that you have all parts listed in the contents
5) Identify step one of the directions
6) Complete step as directed
7) Verify that step is completed properly
8) Identify the next step and repeat item 6 until all steps have been completed
9) Gather all remaining parts and packaging, place them in the box opened in step 1
10) Carry box to the garbage
