I am about to build a brick walkway in my garden.?
Question:I know that I will need to trim my 100 year old bricks to fit the herringbone pattern. What I need to know is this. Is there a blade that I can put on my miter saw that will do the job and not cost me a gazillion bucks. I've already heard about chisels and hammers and that seems like a lot of iffy results. A rented wet saw seems to be the most popular answer but getting water to the site is a problem. Electricity can be done which is why I'm wondering if I can use my fancy-assed compound miter saw.
Answers:
i wouldnt gunk up my miter saw, i would put a diamond blade on my circular saw. even if it doesnt cut all the way through you can snap it the rest of the way with a hammer. you dont need water if youre outside...just wear a respirator mask...
No. You really need to use a wet saw. If water is a problem, take a 5 gallon bucket with you and fill it. Then fill an old ketchup bottle from that. Squirt the water from the ketchup bottle as you cut. You don't need a lot of water, really.
