The Sky is Falling!?

Question:So my boyfriend and I had just drifted off to sleep when we hear this big crash...It sounded like a car crash...we rush out of our bedroom only to find a kitchen cupboard fell of the wall! Its in the middle of the room surrounded by broken glasses and dishes. We dont have the funds to buy another one (it busted in half) and are trying to figure out how th build one ourselves... So if any one can help we would really appreciate it!

Answers:
Do you have renters or homeowners insurance. If so, you might be able to collect on the damages.

This same thing happened to me once and the insurance paid for the new cupboard, the contents of the cupboard and the damage to the floor that resulted.

Otherwise, the easiest thing to do is to get some shelf standards and brackets. A shelf standard is that metal thing that has slots in it for adjustable shelves. Just make sure you screw it into studs and not into hollow wall. And make sure it is heavy duty.

it may work out cheaper to by a second hand cuboard from the ads or ebay, and then paint / stain the door to match what you have.
