Is it possible to install solar energy system in shady area?

Question:

Answers:
Its possible, but very pointless. Solar panels are very inefficient even in direct sunlight, and would convert almost no energy in the shade

Ever consider a wind driven system?
Yes, but it won't work well.
solar is designed for " direct sunlight," now i have heard the newer ones ( not sure if they're out yet) will be using the light outside the visible light spectrum.
You may want to consider "windmills" but you should have about an 8 mph wind to generate any electric, so I'd check you wheather history for your area - if you do get winds in excess for about 60% of the year then it may be worth it.
If they are not choices, and you live near a water way, you may want to consider a "Hydro" system.

On the other hand, you may be able to "Open Up" some of the shaded area so that the sun will shine through and your panels will get direct light - but plan on a tracking system as well so the panels will "Follow The Sun"
I have a grandson that asks stupid questions but he is only 5.
