On carpenter's jeans, why is the hammer loop on the left leg and not on the right?

Question:A genuine problem for real "right-handed" workers who actually use the loop to hold a hammer.

Answers:
To keep it out of the way, as a right handed person tends to use the right side more, and the hammer hanging there will hit things and scar up the wood work.

specially made for left-handed people?
because the majority of people are right handed... that said. I guess it is easy to pull the hammer out of the loop in theory...
It's a tribut to the sad death of Karren Carpenter
Check it out? I am refering to what side is a sword is drawn and why? My tool belt was left hand loop hammer i am right or left no problem wrong, I FIXED THAT found a local saddle maker not 1 loop but 2 this might not suit everyone but it solved my problem and still going strong..
Keep your square in the loop on the left, and wear a loop on your belt on the right. Where are you keeping your fasteners, if you're not wearing a tool bag?
People who use the loop on their carpenter's trousers are the sort who don't actually use the hammer that often and so need to have it out of the way. The best place to have a hammer nearby yet out of the way is to have it on the left side.
