How to hang a picture?

Question:I have a cross that I'd like to hang over the door in my kitchen. What is the best way to do this? I have never done this before. Do I need a drill? How can I make sure it is centered and even? The hanging hook on the back of the cross sort of looks like "teeth" - you know, the ones with the jagged edges. Is there something special I will need to hang this?

Answers:
Depends on what type of wall surface you are working. If it is sheetrock you need to drive the nail in a stud or into the door header. The door header is usually just a 2x 6 so there is only 5 1/2" above the door to nail into it. If you wanna hang it higher up then you will need to drive the nail into a stud or use a screw and a sheetrock anchor. You can get sheetrock anchors at any home improvement store.

NO, if it's not very large you could use a straight pin to hang it. Measure the door frame and then find the center and hammer your pin or little nail in! You can also measure from the ceiling to the top of the door and find the center there as well or just eyeball it!
