Is pine sleeper better then hardwood,if so why?

Perhaps I'm ignorant, or the word sleeper is one used in a country other than the US? Also I wonder what a sleeper has to do with a wall? Is this something like a Murphy Bed?
For anything interior Pine is as acceptable as any other wood. Certainly it can be finished to look like hardwoods. In todays market, not very many items are crafted totally of wood anyway, and even high end pieces are often crafted with mixed woods.
What type of wall. Int or ext. If the pine is cca treated then go for that. it should be cheaper aswell
From his question, I cannot ascertain why he would need a sleeper. To me, a sleeper is a log that has been squared off and is used like under a log cabin like floor joists. To me, it would be 8x8, 10x10, or larger. If he is adding a room onto his house and is supporting it, he might be talking about a doubled up 2x8 or 2x10 - don't know. However, if y ou are putting a board in for a room, you don't need, or want, hardwood. If it has ground contact or is close to the ground, I would use a treated board, or doubled up treated boards.
