Chrome issue?

Question:I recently discovered about this chrome finished plastic.. There is this patch/imperfections in silver colour rather than in black mark. Now, I know if the chrome substain black patch/imperfections then most likely is because its being heavy scratched else rust but a silver patch means? Is it the manufacturing fault during the process?

Thanks. Just need some clarifications from ppl who knows abt chrome finish.

Answers:
Forgive me; I'm not strictly knowledgable about the Q request, but certainly "Chrome" plated PLASTIC is not the same as a car bumper (Electroplated). I want to assume it's more a paint/dip process, and certainly subject to interaction with the substance of the plastic, as well as imperfections in the processing.
With all due respect also; "Chromed Plastic" isn't exactly sold as a high end item, and likely not subject to stringent quality controls. Even the base substance is often recycled plastics, molded to shapes, and finished. It may be there are various base colors in plastics from various manufacturers, often in China, etc.
I note you mention RUST,,, which seems highly unlikely, given that no metal should be used, suseptable to rusting, in a fixture contacting water on a regular basis.
In any case I wish you success in finding an answer.
