Birds in my bathroom exhaust vents. What should I do?
Question:I have birds getting into the bathroom exhaust vents and I do not have a ladder tall enough to reach the vents. Even if I could reach the vents, I am not sure what I would do to solve this problem. Please help.

David,
There are many ways to solve this nuisance bird issue, however, most of them can only make things worse or do damage. The main things that you don't want to do are....seal birds in the vents (this will kill the birds and cause a bad odor, stick sharp objects into the vent (this can tear the duct creating air leakage into the void which could create a mold problem). Our company uses specially designed probes to remove birds and nest debris and aesthetic vent guards to keep the birds out permanently. Could you perhaps smoke them out somehow?
open a window and let them out then do what we did when this happened and duct tape the vents shut or at home depot they have special covers to prevent that from happening.
