Has anyone stained concrete floors themselves?
Question:I'm really interested in staining my concrete slab flooring, but I'm wondering if it's possible to do it myself. Also, I was wondering what supplies are involved and an estimated cost of the total project. Thanks!

I had an outside room enclosed, and the floor was of course concrete. I just bought a tin of paint made especially for concrete floors, applied it with a roller. Fantastic! Depending on how much use the floor gets determines when you need to reapply. I do mine about every 2 years, - just run another coat over it. It comes in a wide choice of colours too.

I do this for a living. There are many ways to achieve this, but the easiest and most effective (depending on the look that you are after) is to trowell a skim coat of feather finish (available from flooring supplies) over the concrete and then sand back which will leave a very mottled floor. I then coat the floor with tuff coat polyurethane that is designed for concrete. This is very easy and can be roll applied. Have a look at my web site and Look under Tuff Coat for concrete completed projects. Cost will be about 8-10m2 . I hope this can be of help to you.
