I need help refilling my butane lighter please?
Question:every time i get a new butane lighter, it works as long as the gas it came with will last, but whenever i try to refill it, it still wont work. how do i properly refill a butane lighter? what is the best way to hold it? at what angle? for how long? how will i know if the gas is even getting into the lighter? i didnt think it would be this difficult, but im having trouble. i dont want to buy a new one because the one i have now is so great! can someone please give me detailed step by step instructions?
thanks in advance to all answerers!!
Answers:
The lighter needs to be held with the filler hole facing upward. The butane refill should be facing directly downward into the filler hole.
Press firmly so that you don't hear any "air sounds" leaking out.
If it's a clear lighter, you should be able to see the liquid flowing into it.
If it's not clear, you keep applying pressure until you cannot stop the "air sound" from happening. This means the lighter is full.
Good luck.
go to a tobacco store or a place that sells them and ask the clerk who works there about them. I think you want to keep them full before they completely run out so you dont dry out the wick thingee ma bob.sorry for my lack of knowledge on the parts. Also you need to make sure you are using triple refined fuel as many lighters are very sensitive to cheap fuels. check out this site for info: http://www.kingbutane.com/about_torches.
you are a blonde right....
If its a bic .. you cannot refill it
but if its a lighter you can refill you hold the lighter upside down so you can see the hole where you refill it ... hold the butane upside down ... pushing down straight and firmly
WAIT a little bit before you try and light it or you'll blow up :)
good luck hun
