I want to replace my existing iron railing on the front porch with wood. How wood I get started.?

Question:How do I mount the 6x6 posts from the tiled veranda floor to the roof it supports. How do I support the roof while I remove the existing support?

Answers:
You will need to jack the roof up and put angled supports in. Then you can remove the old supports and do the work underneath. I would imagine any equipment rental place would have a roof jack for rent, although I'm not sure what one looks like. Just know this is what my brother-in-law (a contractor) has had to do in the past.

I would suggest going to your local hardware store and buying a how to book with step by step instructions on porches or railings. this way you have good proven code ready instructions.
TAKE DOWN THE OLD , PUT UP THE NEW
