Plumbers! How do I get more pressure from my outside tap?

Question:For a childrens toy.

Answers:
You need to decrease the size through which water is coming out. Connecting Hose bib with smaller size than pipe will increase the pressure.

Not a lot you can do, other than increase the size of pipe that feeds the tap. Good luck.
There is not much you can do.It all depends on your water source be it a well or city water.increasing the pipe size as the other reader suggested will decrease pressure not increase it.
You can try attaching a smaller diameter hose to the faucet. Garden hose is usually 1/2, 5/8 or 3/4" diameter. The smaller diameter will increase the pressure.
if you have a well a plumber can adjust the pressure switch and the bladder tank to match. the other option is a special pump that goes between the house and the hose. The downside is I think a pressure boosting pump is about $150.00 at the hardware store I work at.
the helpful hardware man is correct the smaller or larger pipe size answers are incorrect pipe size relates to volume not pressure.
