Cheap and easy ways to improve yard.?
Question:In our bak yard we have built a small deck across a stream that runs next to our house. We also built a bridge over it with another deck on the other side connecting to a treehouse that we also built. We then added a rope swing over the stream and a fire pit. We also have a swing set and are planning on a sandbox soon. There are alot of trees on the edge of the stream and on the edge of our land. We also have a few flowerbeds and stuff. What else can we add that will make it look good?
Answers:
walk way pavers & plant herbs between cracks.
then a long 'arch way' with climbing roses on it.
add plants that discourage mosquitoes.
screened in gazebo type of building.
pump & be creative for a waterfall/fountain w/existing water.
have shade for sandbox.
bird house for Martins (bug eaters). House look like yours.
more flowers/periennals and or lilac trees.
How about a gazebo, they look so nice in a yard, you can buy the kits and do it yourself.
ROUNDUP 2% solution no more yard work.
Buy 10 or 15 Hostas, Elephant Ears, and Ferns. They are cheap, and look great in groups.
A pergola sounds ideal (have a look at the link below), build one of those, then you can pick climbing plants and grow them up it.
With some planning and measuring, you could even build it over the bridge.
With the right climbing plants you can get a flower show in your garden all through summer and into autumn.
Sounds wonderful just as it is..but you asked so..
A hammock would be nice in amongst the trees..
How about a rock garden?
Or a waterfall?
Birdhouses for decor..
