How do I repair a torn liner?

Question:I have a 20' x 24" pool with two 1" tears in the bottom. The pool only has 4" of water in the bottom and is still going down. I do have a repair kit for vinyl pools but my question is...can I make the repair dry or should I try to do it with water still in the pool. The repair kit says that I can repair it wet but experience tells me that it would be better if the surface were dry. Which is better?
Thanks in advance for your response!

What caused the rips? Keep that in mind, as you might have to remove the liner to get to what ever is down there, or replace the sand that has been washed away.

If it says wet patch, it means wet patch. Just make 100% sure that the surface is clean of any algae or dirt.

we have a 20x40 pool which we just had the liner completely replaced and with a pool that size it isn't cheap. I would recommend a wet repair because the patch kits are designed for water interaction. Alot of patch kits are made with a solution that activates when water is mixed with it. I would definitely do what the instructions tell you but would recommend a wet repair.
