Paint help!?
Question:I am painting a room beige when it used to be a pink/peach color. I did not prime because i was told i didn't need to. When i painted on the wall i ended up with streaks. I did not break at all. What did i do wrong and how do i fix it?
Answers:
Priming a room is the best way to prevent it showing through.
BUt if you got streaks it sounds like all it needs is a second coat. If you only used one coat you will see streaks in all the places that you didnt coat well enough. Most rooms need 2 coats anyways.
Good luck!

Try putting on a second coat. That will probably solve the problem.
First of all always make sure they put the paint cans in the "shaker machine" at the store, and be sure to use it as soon as you can.
Cheap paint is notorious for not covering. Pay a couple of extra bucks and get quality paint next time.
Paint dries at different rate, depending on the thickness and what is under it. Some times two or three coats are needed to get rid of the streaks. That is way people prime first, and even then it might take two coats.
sounds like the paint they used was a semi-gloss or gloss then u used either a flat or satin or eggshell & the paint will seperate when it goes on. Paint anthr coat & next time if in DOUBT... put a primer on then paint... it will save u this headache..
scream and you need to do it again best of luck
using a high quality aplicator helps alot. a cheep brush or roller will make you use two coats even with a one coat paint
Chances are you used a latex paint over an oil. Doing this will create major probelms with coverage and bonding. To test the base use nail polish remover and rub on, if the paint comes off it's latex if not its oil. It could also be the paint itself. The paint could have been frozen at one point. It could also be the brand. All paint is not the same, use a good quality paint such as Behr or Benjamin Moore. Make sure that you give ample drying time between coats. For latex 12-24 hours and for oil 24 hours or more. To fix use a good primer sealer and repaint using two coats. Regular or unsealed primer will not cover the streaks.
