How do you get a sticker sticky side leftover off of a plastic box?

Question:when you peel a sticker off the leftover you usually get doesnt come off with water what can u use for it to come off easiler?

Answers:
Goo-gone. Find it in hardware, walmart, target etc. Smells like oranges which is nice.

vegetable oil and a paper towel. Rub in a circular motion.
Lighter fluid... like for Zippo lighters... try some dawn dishsoap too...
WD-40, works great.
* Soak with rubbing alcohol 5 minutes, then wipe off.
* WD40 works very well but it is oily, so you have to do a follow up clean with water to remove it.
* Peanut butter - keep for 5 minutes then wipe off with paper towel
* Baby oil - same as above
Soak the residue in (or with) hot soapy water. Dish detergent works well for this. While the petroleum products usually work very well to remove this type of residue, you say this is on plastic... it is NOT a good idea to get oil products, like WD-40, paint thinner, acetone, etc, on plastic. These types of product actually attack plastic, and break it down. If this label residue were on ceramic, glass, metal, etc... those are the type of product I would recommend to remove the glue residue. Since this is plastic, I recommend that you stick with warm soapy water, and a little elbow grease. I will add, the longer you can soak the residue, the easier it will come off.

Ive been cleaning with, and using all kinds of chemicals professionally for a very long time. If you check the manufacturer's for information on how to clean plastic, or vinyl products, they will tell you do not use oil base products on them. (That includes lubricating them, by the way... NEVER lubricate a vinyl window with WD-40, or a silicone spray, instead, use furniture wax, as several popular window manufacturers recommend)

Good Luck
baby oil it soaks in and then use a scraper to scrape it off. then use a little soap and water to get the oil off.
