Why is it so difficult to find Pergo (wood) flooring?

Question:

Answers:
Pergo is a laminate flooring - in layman's terms - plastic with a picture of wood - with a plastic coating on top. Pergo was the first laminate flooring to hit the US, since then they have aligned themselves with the "big box" stores - Home Depot, Lowe's. You will find it there. Other stores don't generally carry the Pergo brand because since they are aligned with the big box guys, we can't get them to honor any warranty issues that might arise - not only that - they don't give us the same cost price because we aren't buying it buy the container or two.

In other flooring stores, you will find laminates by Tarkett, Columbia, Wilsonart, Quickstep, Shaw, Mohawk, Bruce - just to name a few - you will usually find a higher quality product, in the style you were looking for, at a lower cost.

i worked a home depot and we sold it there. and we could order any kind of flooring you wanted try homedepot.com
Pergo isn't wood. Try any large carpet/tile company, Home Depot or Lowe's for Pergo products available in wood and many other designs. Pergo was the first to make great wood looking flooring, but there are many other companies like Armstrong that now also make these products.
Don't get it unless it is for a very small area. I hate the way mine looks and when you mop it it leaves water spots and smears. Plus when you drop something it sounds Really loud.
