Will we have a hose pipe ban this year?

Question:

Answers:
midnite rambler - sure you will. Remember the reservoir that was collapsing that they had to pump the water out of? That's surely enough to cause a ban!!

[for the foreigners amongst us, a "hosepipe ban" is literally that - due to water shortages, people are prevented from using a hosepipe to water gardens and wash cars as they can use a lot of water in a short space of time]

not in yorkshire
lol..i was thinking exactly the same thing this evening...
after being drowned for weeks on end...they will
give us some reason why we need to have one..
Yes we will. The distribution of water around the UK is a slap dash affair. The water industry is motivated by profit as it has to now make one to pay dividends to its investors. Hence investment is a second thought. Only when the Victorian era pipe work falls in or falls apart do they consider to replace it. Which is another reason why charges are going to be increased as well.
It's never been taken off, in years.
Of course, isn't that what summer is all about?

10 months of rain, drizzle and general dull weather. Followed by two months of reasonable weather, and a drought brought on by global warming.

Wake up, we're outcast, even by the weather.
I am really curious what a 'hose pipe ban' is?
I read that we are in for another month of rain and the only nice hot day we are getting is going to be on the 15th of july so the answer is yes..... (we will have a hosepipe ban on the 15th of july).
Es possible
More than likely! If there are more than 3 nanoseconds of hot weather then a state of emergency is called and the ban is started lol. This country suffers from flooding but builds houses on flood plains, is very wet and rainy but imposes a hosepipe ban every year, and is well used to snow but a mere half and inch will bring hundreds of miles of roads to a standstill. Hmm shouldn't they get themselves a little better prepared?
That's a good question and I dont think they will on the account of rainfall.
not sure , we only need afew days sun and they start bleeting..
Of course we will - little men just LOVE the sense of power it gives them, and won't give that up just because there isn't a water shortage!

Also, this is one of the most discriminatory edicts ever - humping heavy watering cans is just a nuisance to a fit 25-55 year old male, but try doing it as a 70-80 year female pensioner - you just have to watch your cherished veggies and flowers die slowly of thirst. So much for growing good fresh food for your grandchildren!
no i dont think so. If we had a national grid type system for water we wouldnt ever need to impose a hose pipe ban again as teh country has enough water - its just that Wales, Scotland and the North of England has too much and london/ the South of England has too little
