How to run a water line to the back of my fridge?
Question:I have a new fridge that sits about 4-5 feet from the sink. I would like to know how I could get cold water supply from the sink to the fridge? The fridge is on the same wall as the sink and it has a counter between the two. It seems to me as this should be an easy job. Can anyone help with the details??

You might want to visit one of those do-it-yourself kind of warehouse stores and go to their plumbing department. You should look for, or ask for, an ice maker water line installation kit. The kit includes everything you'll need to run a water line from your cold water pipe underneath your sink to the back of your refrigerator. The big thing you need is that saddle tap valve that's in the kit. It screws unto your water line, then it punctures a small hole into the cold water line, allowing water to flow through the plastic tubing - also in the kit - over to your refrigerator. Just make sure you tap the cold water line - that's the right side line under your sink as you look at it - and not the hot water line on the left! Sounds like a silly reminder, but I have seen people do it wrong. Good luck. It's really an easy job that should take no more than 5 or so minutes.
Easiest way is to go to The orange or blue place and get a Refrigerator water line install kit. It comes with a saddle valve that clamps around the pipe under your sink then you pierce the pipe with the saddle valve. It seals itself as you open the valve...
Just follow the instructions.
p.s. If your fridge has a filter built-in, good but they are expensive to replace. I bypassed mine and put an inexpensive, easy to change inline filter on. You could put that under the sink as well and tie it up to the sink drainpipe with a zip-tie. You will thank yourself when you need a special filter and find out they cost 26 bucks! Inlines about 5-7 bucks.
