Clogged toilet?
Question:Is there another way to unclog a toilet without using a plunger?
Answers:
Don't use any chemicals in your toilet, and NEVER pour HOT water in a toilet. The vitreous china can break, if the water is too hot. If you don't want to call a plumber, you will need to purchase a toilet auger. It is a specialized tool for unclogging toilets. They cost about $15 -$50, depending on what brand you buy. Good luck!
Yes, you can use a compressed air can which comes in a kit for toilets. Works multiple times and is available at Home Depot etc. Works great on sinks also.
Many hardware stores sell small toilet augers (drain snake) that are specifically designed to clear the trap on a toilet. But if you aren't sure that's where the blockage is, it might not work.
Another trick is to pour enough water into the bowl to raise the level of water up close to the rim. Sometimes that is enough to push stuff through, or increase the efficiency of plunging. It does, however, increase the chances of spillage, so put down lots of old newspapers if you plunge with the bowl full.
pour hot watre in the toilet
you can try and poor a large bowl or pitcher of water into the toilet. it may work if the water level isn't to high.
toilet bowl brush works well
I know that this is gross, but if you need to unclog it... I would put on your dish washing gloves and reach right in there, grab whatever it is, put it in a bag and get rid of it!
That sucks, I would call a plumber!
use the trash can in your bathroom. just fill it with water and pour in slowly work every time
Try Drano or any other brand liquid de-clogger.
A plumber usually uses an implement called a "snake".
I always use a plunger. I find it to be the most useful.
Sorry, a plunger is a really typical thing to have in a house. Just as typical as a spare tire for you'r car.
