My oven won't heat up? anybody know what this means?

Question:Is it repairable? Or do I need to replace my whole stove? HELP!!

Answers:
1) Check the fuse for the stove. If Ok then go to 2)

2) The heating element is most likely burnt out. Easy to replace. Most hardware stores have them. You do not need to replace the stove!

Further..

Have the old one taken out and with an Ohm meter check for continuity of the element. If the Ohm meter shows the element is fine - then the thermostat may be at fault

If the meter shows an open element - then buy a new one and replace it.

maybe you need to check & replace a fuse-- lift up the very top cover of the stove to see the fuses
It is repairable, most likely cause is the thermostat, you need make, model, serial number a parts supplier and a registered engineer to fit it (corgi engineer if uk)
SHHHHHHH mine wont work either its the heating element , dont tell my hubby, because now I dont have to cook until he has time to fix it. I'ts easy to fix, but why ruin a good thing.
If it is a gas oven the only thing wrong is the thermocouple.
Look underneath the bottom rack on the back wall.
At the center of the wall you will see where the pilot light is supposed to be.. There is a long copper looking rod and its end sets in the middle of the flame. That tells the oven that the flame is on...Its a safety device that will not let the oven put raw gas into the room if there is no pilot light lit.

Its not too expensive to replace. All you have to do is get the brand and model of the stove and buy a new one.they aren't hard to replace at all.

Sounds like the heating element is out, Make sure that the element has good connection, if that isnt the case then check the fuse. I might call a repair person but make sure you ask their rates sometimes it would just be best to go to lowes or home depo and get one that is discontinued. I did that and saved almost 800.00 on a washer and dryer. Good Luck!
it depends on if it is gas or electric, if electric then you should probably replace it, or get a repare man to look at it, but if it is gas your connection or something else is wrong
