Looking for do-it-yourself plans for a short monkey bar structure for our backyard - any ideas?
Question:We'd like to build a freestanding, short (5 feet off the ground) monkey bar structure for our kids. I'm thinking it can be done with a few 4x4s plus the monkey bars. I can't find woodworking plans online though; any ideas?
We have a swingset but I'd like the structure to be lower to the ground as our kids are young and likely to fall a few times. Thank you!

My father just built one for my daughter and only used 2*4's and its very strong/stable. What he did was at the base on either end put a 6 foot 2*4 and then used two shorter boards to make triangles on both sides. He used one inch dowels for the bars and instead of metal plate brackets you can make small triangle frame with another short board or use a small plywood triangle. Email me if you need a diagrams or anything.
