Insulation and electris wires?

Question:Do the electris wires go under or over the insulation. when builidng the ceiling?

Answers:
It doesn't matter, however the wiring should be done first because the drill bit the electrician uses will turn the insulation in what looks like cotton candy.
I was wiring a house one time when the insulator wanted to get started. I held up my drill with the auger bit in it, squeezed the trigger and said, can you say cotton candy. He packed up and left, and didn't come back until I was done.

You need to run your wires first. If you decide to add something later, it wont hurt a thing to run the wires on top of the insulation. When the electrican is pulling wires, it would be impossible to move the wires through the rafters from the ground with all that insulation in the way. You would have to fight a battle every time you wanted to move up and down a wall.
The important thing is that the insulation be against the ceiling. If the wires are put in first and not enough slack is left in the wires and the insulation is laid on top, there could be a couple of inches of air gap between the insulation and the ceiling. This would allow cold air to contact the ceiling, negating the effect of the insulation.

If wires are put in first, make sure there is enough slack so that they can be pushed down on top of the ceiling, and the insulation laid on top of the wires eliminating any air gap.
When electricity travels through wire, it generates a little heat, so if the wire is exposed to air, it is able to dissipate that heat. It therefore works better and cooler if additional insulation is not preventing heat dissipation.
IF IT WAS ME I PUT THE WIRE UNDER SO THAT AN THE ACKET WERE U CROW AROWN .U CAN USE 3/4 PLY WOOD TO STONE ON IN THE WIRE WON'T GET SMACH IN BETTEN
The wires go over the insulation, attached to the ceiling joists and on batons if they go the other war.
It really doesn't matter but make sure if you are stapling your wires to a beam, be sure your are an inch and a quater up the beam so that when you sheetrock you don't screw through your wire.
wires over the insulation..you may want to fix or change something later...this makes it easier.
