How do you remove double hung windows that have imbedded weather stripping?

Question:These windows have interlocking weatherstripping nailed to both sides and I am breakin part of the sash when I try to remove it.

Answers:
Look up the manufacture on line. Give them a call.

I have not run into that, (yet) but it sounds like you need a different tool to pull the nails. This is my favorite.

Good luck.

Now I know what you are talking about!!

The way to remove those windows, is to remove the thin wood strip that is the guide. Do not worry about btreaking it, as you can get it milled at any cabnet shop. You might also need to remove the inside trim on each side of the windows to get at the weights to replace the ropes. Email me, as I do have plenty of experience working on that type of windows.

This will help.
