Is there a way to make my oven heat up faster?
Question:
Answers:
Not really, you could light a fire in it but then there would be less room for food.
Turn it on.
You could start it up on Broil and then after 3-4 minutes switch to normal operation and input the temperature you want. You can fine tune this procedure after you have some experience using it.
no and wastes energy to pre-heat
only time must pre-heat is with things like cakes souffles
things need exacting temp to rise.
most meat and casseroles toss in before preheat and they cook a little bit faster time..
using a toaster oven on small things faster cold to hot time than big oven too.
if you are making smaller things like one cake or pie at a time maybe look into getting one of those counter top covector air ovens, the glass ones. they are handy and make things so fast.
i see them at garage sales al the time and the only thing keeping me from getting another one ( I had one years ago) is that I have a 3 year old who constantly tries to touch everything in the kitchen. and I live in a smaller house with out much kitchen storage space.
other than that just to heat up your oven you might turn it on to a higher setting for the first 5 minutes of preheating then back to the regular temp.
is it possible the thermostat or element is going bad in it?
I don't know what you are or are not doing.
I had an old stove which took and hour to pre-heat. It was a big waste of energy and time. The stove was over thirty years old so I chucked it and got a new one which preheats in 10 minutes. I don't know if that is your problem or not
Also if you are opening the door a lot that could be a huge contributor to you heating time. Every time you open the oven door the temperature drops 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
I hope this helps you.
No !! Be patient. Why would you want it to heat faster ?
