How do i get melted crayon off a wooden picnic table without taking the stain off the wood?
Question:we were melting crayons, dont ask why. we were bored.
oh, and i got melted crayon on my leg and it blistered the skin and then the skin peeled away leaving it really tender and painful, what should i do it to make it feel beter?
Answers:
First, for the melted crayon, you can use ice to make it really hard, and hopefully it will chip off easily. If that doesn't work, you could use an iron and a few brown paper bags or some absorbent paper. Place the bags or paper over the crayon and "iron" over the crayon until it's all soaked into the paper. As for your leg, put ice on it until it's very cold, then apply some antibiotic ointment.
try alcohol or Mr.Clean Magic Eraser.
Try resoftening the crayon using a blow dryer. It may, however, leave a stain that you can then maybe use something like Goo Gone to remove it.
And your leg? Bummer, but use some antibiotic ointment, and keep it clean.
Oh goodness, no. Don't use an iron if you are worried about the finish of the table at all. That's a sure fire way to ruin the finish.
Lay a paper (not plastic) bag over the crayon. then use an iron to iron the paper bag. The heat will melt the crayon and the paper bag will soak up the wax pulling it up off the picnic table. Do NOT use this technique on your leg, however. The best I can come up with for your leg is ice and antibiotic cream. Hope you feel better.
You've got some good answers for the table/wax situation. I've successfully used the iron trick on carpet with good results. As for your leg; get a bottle of aloe with lidocaine and apply as needed. You'll be able to find it most everywhere that sells sunscreen. It's marketed to help with sunburns.
USE A FEW CLEAN, OLD TOWELS AND A WARM IRON (NOT TOO HOT)! Lay towel on crayon and run iron over towel for 20 to 30 seconds at a time, move towel as necessary until marks (crayon) is all but gone. If you cant get it all off call CRAYOLA COMPANY and see what they suggest to remove the rest! They know best as they make them ! 800 number should be on side of box or check their site on net!
