Answers:
That is a really complicated way to waste money.
Yeah, just certify yourself, wasting your money.
you will not (normally)be able to fit 4,16,4 =24mm double glazed units into wood frames.
but the good news is you do not need them to be 4,16,4. all you need is them to be heat retaining, and safety glass if the bottom of the window is bellow 800mm.
the u value comes from a coating that is put on to the glass.
you can go to any glaziers and they will tell you the minimum u value that you need to buy to conform to regulations.
i am wondering why you are importing them you can get them made here to any design you want and any type of wood you want to use.
a 4,16,4 unit using low eglass will give a u value of 1.8 you need to achieve a figure of 2 or less you will also need to have trickle vents on all downstiairs windows and on all upstairs windows unless you are able to lock the window partially open in which case trickle vents should not be needed upstairs.toughened glass in all doors or windws fixed to doors or below 800mm from floor level will be required and building control will need to be informed of commencement date and fees paid (about £70)check everything with building control in my experiece part l requrements vary from council to council
