Electrical Components of a Lamp. Where Can I Buy ?

Question:Lamp Kits which are the electrical components of a household lamp, ie, socket, flex, switch etc are readily available in the USA.
I am looking for the same from a UK supplier but can't find. Can anyone advise...thanks.

Answers:
Lampholders-plastic/metal/swit... and unswitched, line switches, 2 and 3 core flex and plugs are all available from B&Q and similar stores or any decent electricians shop.

Certainly there must be hardware stores in the UK. It would be odd to say the least, if you can't find these things in your local hardware store.
Ebay?
I got switches etc from here.

B&Q do inline switches and other 'bits'
Both below are good, Maplins would be cheaper if they have what you are after, but the second has everything you could possibly every need regards lighting or anything electrical.
