I have a small 9x13 area on top of my house. Previously hot tarred. Want to redo it but not with hot tar?

Question:This is a two story house so I would like ideas that are quick and do-able for a beginner DIYer.

Answers:
Do a cold apllied roof membrane. Go to a roofing suply house and get a ruber roof and use a product called MBA and glue it down.
you will need 2 square of roofing product. roof Muck and fabric

9x13 is 1.26 square so 1.5 should do and a rubber roof gets singed on however is this roof flat or pitched ; you dont give enough =info for more options
HOT tar has a natural appeal. It seems to be the thing to do...but maybe not. Hot eventually cools and this causes contraction and eventually cracks. There are COLD tars for roof applications. I'd give it a try instead of the hot. Good luck.
You could glaze it back with hot tar.
I would recommend EPDM (rubber) it comes in different colors and very easy to install.
you can get insulation that is tapered slightly, I would taper it and use some metal on that part. that will last you 50 years or more and it is not that hard to install.
